Let’s return, then, to Nullo’s citation of SRC’s ’29 Instruction. What does Nullo say about it? Does it recommend it? Should we study it and summarize it, too?
Nullo’s opening words, “Never at any time has the Apostolic See omitted safeguards” for the safekeeping of the MBS. It next recites in full the pertinent canons from the ’17 CIC. It is here, after citing these canons that it expressly mentions its ’29 Instruction.
The way it mentions the ’29 Instruction is helpful for the present context. For one thing, there’s the Instruction’s title itself. It indicates various concerns while at the same time limiting itself from being understood as comprehensive in its treatment of the MBS: “on some things to be avoided and observed in the celebration of the Sacrifice of the Mass and in the distribution and reservation of the Sacrament of the Most Holy Eucharist.”
Nullo says “Since we already issued the ’29 Instruction, we now address the present concern: keeping & preserving MBS from injury of any kind. In other words, it would be false and baseless to the answer to deny there being any direct or immediate connection or relationship between Nullo and the ’29 Instruction. So what then is the connection? And how deeply into ’29 do we need to go?
